Transportation Coordinator & Driver – Mount Currie, BC
Hiring Organization: First Nations Health Authority (FNHA)
Location: Mount Currie, BC with frequent travel to Southern Stl’atl’imx communities up to 3 hours away.
Employment Type: Term (ending 6/20/2026) with possibility of extension to a permanent role.
Hours: 37.5 weekly hours.
Salary: $52,883 – $72,714 per year (pay range explained below).
Core Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct safe, timely travel for staff and clients to the Primary Care Centre.
Organize daily transport schedules and coordinate with the primary care team.
Assist passengers, including individuals with disabilities, as needed.
Perform and document vehicular safety checks, routine maintenance, and cleaning.
Ensure compliance with all transportation and safety regulations.
About You
Education: Provincial Grade 12 education or equivalent.
Occupational Certification:
Valid BC Class 4 A or 4 B Driver’s License.
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or completion within 3 months of employment).
Completion of Violence Prevention training within 3 months of employment.
Experience:
Experience working with First Nations and Indigenous communities.
Experience driving in remote areas and inclement weather conditions.
Prior passenger transportation experience, especially with individuals with disabilities, is an asset.
Knowledge & Skills:
Cultural safety, humility and trauma‑informed approaches.
Routine vehicular maintenance schedules and minor repair ability.
Geographical knowledge of the Southern Stl’atl’imx Region.
Strong communication, de‑escalation and supportive skills.
Organizational and independent work skills.
Confidentiality and navigation using maps or on‑board equipment.
Language proficiency in a local Indigenous language is an asset.
