ResponsibilitiesUtilizing current experience, your role will include:Auditing current procedures and policies to ensure they meet the needs of the ever evolving minerals marketDeveloping scientific protocols and best practices which will allow AGAT to remain at the forefront of providing exceptional technical services and providing operational advantages for our clientsActively involved in national and international projects tied to our Energy, Mining, Environmental, Food, Ecotox and Forensics divisions Participating in a wide variety of unique and innovative projects Qualifications:Post-secondary education (BSc) in Science required; PhD preferredMinimum 10 years’ experience in industryStrong technical background in mining geochemistry with specific focus on laboratory procedure optimizationStrong understanding of Fire Assay, ICP, XRD, XRF, High Resolution ImagingAbility to guide operations on proper handling, preparatory and analytical techniquesStrong background in quality control, quality assurance and data evaluationAbility to conduct research and develop or optimize analytical methodsWillingness to participate and present at technical conferencesAbility and openness to collaborate with internal and external scientistsExperience with research and development and associated grant and tax incentives Strong technical proficiency with standard office computer technologyStrong communication skills in English; bilingual French an assetWork Environment: This position requires a person to sit for prolonged periods of time in an office setting.
