Position Overview
Calian is seeking Contract Recruiters to support a high-volume, early-career recruitment program focused on technical skillsets. This role supports a defined portion of the recruitment lifecycle, with responsibility for candidate sourcing, outreach, screening, pipeline management, and candidate guidance in a fast-paced, structured environment.
Recruiters will work directly with candidates to understand their skills, experience, and interests, providing clear guidance on role alignment and next steps to help candidates pursue opportunities where they are best positioned to succeed. The role operates within established processes, tools, and performance expectations.
This is a 12-month contract with potential for extension, subject to program requirements and performance.
Responsibilities
Conduct high-volume candidate sourcing using Linked In Recruiter and other approved channels
Execute structured candidate outreach and follow-up activities
Engage with candidates to understand their backgrounds, strengths, and career interests
Review resumes and conduct initial candidate screening against established eligibility and skill criteria
Build and maintain talent pipelines aligned to defined role profiles and intake priorities
Collaborate with educational institutions and training programs to support early-career talent pipelines
Provide clear guidance to candidates on role suitability, expectations, and next steps within the program
Maintain accurate, real-time candidate data in tracking tools and systems
Update candidate status, notes, and handoff indicators in accordance with program standards
Manage trackers, documentation, and shared materials
Work toward defined sourcing, screening, and pipeline targets, with performance tracked through program metrics
Adhere to defined recruitment processes, templates, and governance
Follow privacy, confidentiality, and information-handling requirements
Escalate issues, risks, or capacity constraints as required
Qualifications
Experience in high-volume recruitment or talent sourcing
Hands-on experience using Linked In Recruiter
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, Share Point, and One Drive
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Clear, inclusive written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a structured, metrics-driven environment
Experience level may range from early-career to intermediate, with responsibilities aligned accordingly
Must be eligible to obtain Reliability (Level I) clearance with the Government of Canada
Willingness and ability to travel within Canada on an occasional, as-needed basis
Familiarity with or interest in the Canadian Armed Forces and related career pathways is considered an asset
Compensation
$62,000 – $72,000, plus 3 weeks’ vacation, statutory holidays, and benefits.
