About vArmour

At vArmour, we’re disrupting traditional security and IT players through the understanding of relationships - the complex interdependencies that drive IT. vArmour is the leading venture-backed provider of Application Relationship Management software, enabling complex, global enterprises to discover and protect the relationships between users, digital assets and data. Based in Silicon Valley, the company's investors include Highland Capital Partners, AllegisCyber, NightDragon, Redline Capital, Citi Ventures, and Telstra.

The largest companies in the world use vArmour to visualize, map, monitor, and control the relationships that power their organizations. Only vArmour enables organizations to auto-discover relationships between applications and users across hybrid clouds without adding new agents or infrastructure. As businesses continue to tackle the challenges of digital transformation, vArmour makes it easy to achieve Zero Trust, securely migrate to cloud, visualize and control user access, and discover the blast radius of incidents.

At vArmour, “Relationships Matter” is the cornerstone philosophy that drives the company--in our technology and product design, as well as how the company engages our people, customers, and partners. We live this value every day.

About the role

Our success is driven by our people. We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer who is a highly technical, hands-on developer with a passion for producing maintainable and robust code. Working with stakeholders to help drive the customer experience by enabling high impact data products that help our customers understand their complex relationships

Collaborating with your team to solve tough technical and business challenges and write great code in the process

Thinking about how to build high-performing, resilient, scalable software with an emphasis on code quality through unit and integration testing

Helping to define the infrastructure on which your code runs and support it in production

Working with the DevOps team to create tools, alerts, instrumentation and monitoring for the code you write to ensure our applications are up and running smoothly.

What you’ll bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree/experience

5+ years building web applications with an emphasis on the backend

Strong understanding of RESTful API / GraphQL development, design and testing

Strong knowledge of Python frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask

Familiarity with designing and creating Swagger specifications

A passion for mentoring and helping others around you

What we offer

The opportunity to be a part of something special - an exciting work environment filled with motivated people on a mission to disrupt markets through excellent software. We strive to have parity of benefits across regions and while regulations differ from place to place, we believe taking care of our people is the right thing to do.

Competitive salary and stock options

Medical, dental, vision coverage for you and your family in many locations

Ability to craft your schedule with flexible work arrangements and locations for many roles

Generous holidays and vacation days each year

Retirement plans

While we have a pretty good idea of what we need, we’re ready for you to challenge our thinking on who needs to be in this role.

Alberta (; French: [albɛʁta]) is a province of Canada. With an estimated population of 4,067,175 people as of the 2016 census, it is Canada's fourth most populous province and the most populous of Canada's three prairie provinces. Its area is about 660,000 square kilometres (250,000 sq mi). Alberta and Saskatchewan were formerly districts of the Northwest Territories until they were established as provinces on September 1, 1905.Alberta is bordered by the provinces of British Columbia to the west, Saskatchewan to the east, the Northwest Territories to the north, and the U.S. state of Montana to the south. Alberta is one of three Canadian provinces and territories to border only a single U.S. state. It is also one of only two landlocked provinces in the country. The province has a predominantly humid continental climate, with stark contrasts over a year; but seasonal temperature average swings are smaller than in areas further east, due to winters being warmed by occasional chinook winds bringing sudden warming.Alberta's capital, Edmonton, is near the geographic centre of the province and is the primary supply and service hub for Canada's crude oil, the Athabasca oil sands and other northern resource industries.About 290 km (180 mi) south of the capital is Calgary, the largest city in Alberta. Calgary and Edmonton centre Alberta's two census metropolitan areas, both of which have populations exceeding one million, while the province has 16 census agglomerations.Tourist destinations in the province include: Banff, Canmore, Drumheller, Jasper, Sylvan Lake and Lake Louise. Alberta is home to six UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks, Dinosaur Provincial Park, the Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, Waterton–Glacier International Peace Park, Wood Buffalo National Park, and Writing-on-Stone / Áísínai'pi.
