The Opportunity:
Our client, a growing manufacturing organization in the Burlington area is looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to join their team. Reporting to the VP of Operations, this role will be responsible for managing and monitoring the full cycle of purchasing and procurement for the organization and ensuring the availability of products to service customer requirements, while maintaining inventory levels, negotiating prices, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. This is a full-time, permanent position.

What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, including negotiating terms and agreements with vendors to secure favourable pricing, payment terms, and service requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships. Responsible for monitoring and assessing vendor performance regularly, addressing any issues as they arise.
- Generate purchase orders based on demand forecasts and inventory levels. Ensure accuracy and completeness of purchase orders.
- Track and expedite orders to meet production schedules and customer demand.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder points. Implement inventory optimization strategies to minimize carrying costs. Perform regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Analyze pricing, quality, and delivery terms to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices. Generate reports on purchasing activities and cost analysis. Assist in budget planning and forecasting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, and quality control, to ensure seamless operations.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to address their procurement needs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.

The Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing and procurement, preferably in the retail manufacturing industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with supplier relationship management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
