You will meet ambitious people and people passionate about the world of entertainment!YOUR MISSIONReporting to the Tour Director the Production Manager is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of the show’s technical operations, communicating objectives, action plans and directions to achieve high levels of performance in a safe environment. As a mentor and technical expert, the Production Manager will work in close collaboration with the artistic team, tour management, International Headquarters (IHQ), partners and venues to ensure the smooth running of show operation.Responsibilities:Operations:• Operations management: verifying the venue is a safe and functional environment for the tour’s team members while safeguarding the show’s artistic quality and equipment sustainability with proper maintenance and inspections.• Smooth city runs: organizing and leading the load-in, city run and load-out, coordinating all technical and artistic equipment while ensuring the team upholds high safety standards;• Advance planning: coordinating your team’s schedules, evaluating and planning for short- and medium-term workforce talent, equipment needs and liaising with local officials to ensure site conformity is respected.• Budget controlling: in collaboration with company stakeholders and the show’s Tour Director, preparing and overseeing the department’s budget and expenditures;• Impeccable scheduling skills: coordinating rehearsals, show calls, rotations, vacation time and projects. • Manage all aspects of technical operations related to the selected location, physical production and maintenance of technical standards for the show and infrastructure; • Ensure that the performance venue provides a safe environment for optimal audience comfort and artistic quality; • Carry out the operational planning of technical operations with the directors on tour and in accordance with the standards set forth by the Office of the Vice-president office of the touring show division; • Manage all on-site equipment and ensure that all equipment-related programs set forth by the Tour Equipment Department (operations and maintenance) are applied; • Prepare and manage the tour operating budget for the Technical Operations Department in cooperation with the show support department; • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures set forth by the Vice-president office of the touring show division. General:• Working in collaboration with the CODI on tour, manage the financial, human and material resources for the Technical Operations Department on tour; • Actively participate in the cohesive management philosophy within the CODI on tour; • Act as Director on Duty (DOD) as required; • Participate in the creation of contracts and manage the agreements with external partners and ensure compliance during operations.• Liaise and coordinate with various departments at International Headquarters in order to maintain the integrity of the concept for all aspects of technical operations and represent them throughout the operations; • Ensure artistic instructions are followed and the technical quality of the show standards for the infrastructure are maintained; • Take part in the planning of special and promotional activities for the tour.Human Resources:• Thoroughly evaluate all direct reports and supervise the evaluation of all technical staff; • Working in collaboration with the Office of the Vice-President and the Talent Business Partner, by creating and deploying coaching and development plans for Department staff; • Manage the time management file (payroll, vacations, leaves); • Oversee manpower planning for all tour technical staff, together with the Talent Business Partner; • Produce and implement a succession plan for managers and ensure operational consistency across the Department for all positions; • Ensure adequate application of emergency measures and workplace health and safety procedures in accordance with both company policies and the laws in effect (team training, exercises, etc.);• Team leadership: being the motivational force behind the scenes, contributing to your team’s well-being and professional development.Financial:• Carry out budget forecasting and follow-up for the Department; • Implement management systems that enable all managers in the team to thoroughly understand the budget process and expense monitoring.YOUR UNIQUE EXPERTISE• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field;• Minimum ten years' experience in a management position in a technical field; • Pertinent experience in show business, technical management and touring;• Strong tour production background required; • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams; • Experience in budget management and demonstrated leadership skills;• Adventure-seeking, challenge-driven conciliator;• Ability to work well under pressure and laugh off exasperating situations;• Knowledge of Microsoft applications for Windows;• Excellent written and oral communication skills;• Fluency in spoken and written English is essential; any additional language (spoken and/or written) is an asset; • Available to tour full time and to work in foreign countries.
