Experienced Material Handler needed for the Afternoon shift! Are you familiar with the plastics industry and the materials involved? Apply now! Where does theMaterial Handler fit in? As the Material Handler you will ensure that all material and components are available to the production staff as required.
The Material Handler is to perform manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies.
You will oversee and ensure the timely production of customer product.
Assist production staff and Set-Up personnel as required.
What you can expect as our nextMaterial Handler: Review production schedule and each molding machine to ensure sufficient material is present and identify appropriate resins for upcoming ordersPrepare and supply resin for molding machinesLearn to effectively use the material vacuum loading system (M7)Ensure all materials have appropriate identification on containers, hoppers, dryers etc.Complete all required paperwork to ensure efficient tracking and documentation requirements are achievedClean out dryers and load with resin, identify appropriate dryer temperatures and set dryer accordinglyAssemble and disassemble material hoppers for colour or material changeoverMaintain a high level of cleanliness of area resin on the press, on the floor, remove purges from presses and dispose safelyEnsure the Senior Process tech and/or Shift Supervisor is informed of any equipment related issues.
Initiate work order if necessary.Mix, blend, dry and color raw material in accordance with the bill of materialAssist Junior Setup with mold changes when time permitsAble to follow instructions / direction from supervisors / ManagementMust ensure compliance to TS-16949 systems and proceduresComplete all necessary documentation as required including material lot numbersMaintain good housekeepingEnsure compliance / enforcement of Axiom Plastics plant standards Performs all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health and safety rules and regulationsPerform additional tasks as assigned Are you our next Material Handler? Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalentFork lift licenseWorking knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and good manufacturing practicesGood verbal and written communication skills, able to read and write in EnglishMust be punctual, reliable and have good work ethic.Must have basic computer and calculator proficiencyGood interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team oriented environmentStrong attention to detail and pride in quality of work, good visual skills for assessing part qualityAbility to utilize information from the process sheetsMechanically inclined and good aptitude, highly focused and driven to learn Perks?!
