Nature & Scope of Position

The Market Manager is a key role in CHS's continued success. The Market Manager is responsible for managing the business of a portion of our medical product portfolio, new product development, and pricing excellence for CHS. Teach, train, and coach sales representatives on products and initiatives. Manage the customer experience during the sales cycle and key customer visits. Lastly, the marketing Manager will be involved and contribute to the relationship between the commercial team and internal business partners (RA/QA, Supply Chain, etc.) to ensure ongoing collaboration. The role reports to Senior Director of Marketing, Medical and Non-Acute.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyze the business and contribute to a vision and strategy for market/organic growth one to three years in into the business plan. Execute annual objectives, business plans and implement strategic initiatives to achieve results.
  • Energetically focus on growing market share to a leadership position and increasing profitability. Recognize market, customer base and customer needs/wants within ever changing environment. Develop sales tools, promotions, and pricing strategies.
  • Review and understand correlated performance data according to suppliers and market as applicable to changing market needs.
  • Analyze, review, and solve price and margin problems using business intelligence tools. Use data to help other CHS team members maximize customer value and profit.
  • Develop marketing business plans and strategies for products in portfolio in conjunction with Senior Director of Marketing.
  • Work alongside CHS reps on application problems and sales opportunities, spending 10-15% of time in the field with sales team and customers.
  • Has a good understanding of technical product marketing and application of products within the medical setting.
  • Proven experience managing trade show, conferences, KOLs (key opinion leaders)
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare community as it related to medical devices.
  • Proven team leadership skills are required.
  • Research and analyze market and competitors to identify gaps, develop innovative products and market solutions as well as process improvement and best practices to incorporate into the business.
  • Prepare, manage, and deliver presentations as required (vendor, customer, and internal business reviews)
  • Lead major RFP and RFQ responses pertaining to portfolio.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and best practices to incorporate into the business.
  • Collaborate with Channel Management, Sales Leaders, and internal departments as appropriate.

Knowledge, Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's Degree BS or BA in Science or Business; and 3-5 years of related experience and/or training in a related sales or marketing role.
  • Industry experience in medical devices is preferred.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.

Technical Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office software. ERP experience required; BI report tool software experience; Microsoft Dynamics is an asset.
  • Advanced excel skills required.
  • Ability to create dashboards and power point presentations at an advanced level is required.
