Senior User Experience Designer

Outwitly Inc. Ottawa, Ontario, CA

Published 2026-01-08

Description

Outwitly Inc. is a women-owned, UX and service design talent solutions partner, consultancy and industry leader committed to improving human experiences. Established in 2016, we have worked with clients across North America to challenge the status quo, create innovative solutions, and build products and services that people love.

We are looking for Senior UX Designers to work with our clients ranging from Healthcare to Public Sector work to deliver engaging, human-centered experiences. As a Senior UX Designer, you’ll play a key role in shaping meaningful, intuitive digital experiences from the ground up. You’ll work across discovery, strategy, and execution—often all in the same week.

This is an evergreen role. We build relationships with great designers over time and bring people in when there’s a meaningful opportunity to do impactful work together.

What You’ll Do
Lead UX work on complex, real-world problems from early discovery through launch and iteration
Translate ambiguity into clear, thoughtful user experiences
Plan and conduct research (interviews, usability testing, workshops) and turn insights into action
Create flows, wireframes, prototypes, and experience strategies that hold up under scrutiny
Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other designers
Advocate for users while balancing business goals, technical constraints, and timelines
Contribute to design systems and help raise the overall quality bar of our work
Mentor and support other designers as the team grows

What You’ll Bring

You don’t need to check every box—but this role is best suited for someone who has truly been around the block.

8+ years of hands-on UX design experience, working on digital products or platforms
A strong portfolio showing end-to-end UX thinking, not just polished UI
Experience designing for complex workflows, data-heavy tools, or multi-user systems
Confidence facilitating conversations with stakeholders and pushing back when needed
A research-informed approach—you care about evidence, not assumptions
Comfort working remotely with distributed teams
Clear communication skills (written, verbal, async—everything in between)

Nice to Haves
Saa S, enterprise, or B2 B products
Accessibility-first design practices
Design systems at scale
Coaching or mentoring other designers

Why this role is evergreen

Great designers don’t always line up perfectly with hiring timelines—and that’s okay. If you meet the qualifications and are excited at the prospect of working remotely with some of our clients, we want to hear from you. We review applications regularly and reach out when there’s a strong fit.

We’re remote-friendly across Canada and intentionally build our processes to support deep work, clear communication, and healthy boundaries.

Outwitly Inc. is committed to fostering, cultivating and preserving a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion, and collaborating with team members and candidates to identify and remove barriers to employment. We welcome and encourage applications from all persons and will work to find reasonable accommodations at all stages of recruitment and throughout a team member's employment.

This position is not open to staffing agencies or third-party recruitment services. No communications will be responded to.
