Our client is seeking a Legal Assistant to support lawyers within their Estates, Trusts, and Tax practice group. This role is primarily focused on solicitor-based tax and estate planning matters, including corporate reorganizations, trust structuring, and succession planning.
A legal assistant provides administrative support to lawyers, including preparing documents, conducting research and managing files. They may also assist with trial preparation, interviews and other tasks as needed.
Typically, a diploma or certificate in legal studies or a related field is required. Many legal assistants also pursue certifications, such as the Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) designation, to enhance their skills and job prospects.
The average salary for a legal assistant in Vancouver, BC ranges from $45,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications and the size and type of law firm or organization.
