What You’ll Be Doing
Conduct gas leak surveys on distribution and transmission pipelines using advanced detection equipment
Identify, classify, and document methane leaks in accordance with regulatory and client standards
Perform high-accuracy pipeline mapping and asset verification using GNSS equipment
Collect and manage geospatial data to support pipeline integrity and compliance programs
Interpret maps, records, and as-built drawings to validate and update pipeline locations
Complete detailed digital field reports, sketches, and data submissions
Communicate clearly with supervisors, clients, and stakeholders regarding findings and site conditions
Maintain strong, professional relationships with landowners and the public while working in the field
Perform all work in compliance with safety standards, while pushing beyond minimum industry expectations
Approach each job with an owner’s mindset — identifying risks, efficiencies, and opportunities to improve execution
What We’re Looking For
Experience in gas leak detection, pipeline inspection, or utility field services (preferred)
Familiarity with methane detection equipment and survey methodologies
Experience with GNSS / GPS data collection and mapping (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing accurate, defensible data
Ability to work independently in field environments with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills — able to clearly interact with clients, landowners, and team members
Background in competitive athletics (varsity or high-level team sports) is considered a strong asset
Willingness to travel and adapt to changing field and environmental conditions
A mindset focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Required Certifications & Requirements
Valid Ground Disturbance Level II or willing to take course
CSTS 2020, WHMIS, and First Aid (current) or willing to take course
Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract
Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
Compensation & Benefits
$25.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
