Java Software Engineer
Anson Mc Cade are pleased to be working with a consultancy who have an urgent demand for a senior software engineer to work on a government project kicking off in the next 4 weeks.
Job Description:
We are seeking a self-driven and experienced Java Developer to join ta digital transformation project on a 12-month day rate contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in the modernization of a legacy Java system, requiring strong technical skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining clear and consistent communication with the wider team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and transfer functionality from a legacy Java system
- Design and build modern, scalable APIs using Java Spring Boot
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
- Ensure maintainability, performance, and reliability of application components
- Contribute to both backend and frontend (React) as needed
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience with Java and Spring Boot , particularly in designing and building RESTful APIs
- Exposure to or working knowledge of React for front-end development
- Ability to work independently as a contractor while maintaining strong lines of communication
- Previous experience in legacy system migration or modernization projects is highly desirable
