Worker Sub-Type: Regular Job Description: The BlackBerry IOT Marketing & Business Development team is ramping up a Global Pricing function. We want to drive innovation in our approach to pricing and monetization and need you to build an overarching pricing framework which considers the various software and development pricing models relevant to the industries we operate in. You will be able to take advantage of BlackBerry IOT outstanding product portfolio and market positioning in Automotive and non-Automotive Industry segments. You’ll sit at the intersection of product development, finance, sales, and marketing to build a strong understanding of our customers segments, our products, and our go-to-market strategy. The Head of Pricing will be responsible for driving the pricing, packaging, and monetization strategy working cross-functionally (e.g Product, Commercial, Finance) to accelerate growth, optimize pricing, and transform our business models across the IOT portfolio. You will be reporting to the VP Product Marketing & Business Development. (Potential Remote Option) Responsibilities: Analyze and audit existing pricing and associated monetization initiatives Build business cases for BlackBerry’s IOT Pricing Strategy, or new product monetization strategies and driving alignment across BlackBerry. Deliver pricing recommendations that follow a logically reasoned, data-driven approach, supported by appropriate market research and competitive analysis. Collaborate and align with Product and Commercial teams, providing strategic counsel on decisions on how to price individual products. Identify areas for investment to build and solidify a pricing strategy practice at BlackBerry, including hiring a team, identifying software required and other tools to help scale. Establish frameworks and models to support discounting strategies which will be executed by the field with support and escalation to the BlackBerry’s deal desk. Define, track and measure pricing KPIs, defining actionable cross-functional decision insights on pricing performance. Lead and be accountable for the roll-out of the pricing plan and ensure delivery of milestones and goals. Optimize execution of a deal desk function to review strategic opportunities. Communicate progress and impact to Management and the wider company. Act as the company’s thought leader and expert (internally and externally) in all matters pricing related. Work with cross-functional teams to critique and optimize initiatives on an ongoing basis. Skills & Qualifications: 10 years of deep experience in a pricing or a closely associated role. Ability to translate and communicate complex topics in a variety of forums, tailoring communications to effectively fit and influence the targeted audience. Strong executive presence, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills. Comfort engaging with global executives in business and technical discussions. Proven leadership experience leading high performing teams in fast paced environments, driving complex, transformation initiatives cross-functionally. Experience with digital marketplaces is a plus. Innovative mindset to go beyond standards and legacy of the industries we operate in. Strong analytical skills to work on complex business issues in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative high-growth environment. High aptitude to learn quickly, assimilate to new teams and projects, provide critical thinking on new and unknown tasks, and work well under pressure with appropriate attention to detail. Advanced skills for utilizing Excel, analyzing data and creating financial or operational models. Experience presenting data visually (e.g. Tableau). SQL user Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Economics, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Degrees; Advanced degree preferred. Fluent in English, 2nd language a plus.
