Who we are looking for Charles River Development is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who will work on the Critical operational and reliability Engineering of our SaaS Cloud platform. In this role you will do cross-functional engagement with other engineering teams, managing issues when they happen, as well as promoting reliability and resilience practices throughout the organization. You will lead teams to plan, design, build and participate in deploying applications with focus on operational resilience. This role focuses on the resilience and monitoring of the foundational cloud infrastructure, shared services, and DevOps processes and tooling that will underpin the next generation platform. This includes storage, compute, networking and services deployed across the globe and with a strong, forward-looking security architecture for a growing range of compliance standards. Why this role is important to us The team you will be joining is a part of Charles River Development (or CRD), that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019. What you will be responsible for As a Cloud Site Reliability Engineer you will Own & operate critical back-end services within the cloud – IaaS , PaaS and SaaS. Build tools and design processes that help improve observability and system resiliency. Monitor capacity & utilization and work closely with the infrastructure team to orchestrate scale-up/down of backend services. Establish design patterns for monitoring, benchmarking and deploying new features for the backend services. Triage site availability incidents and proactively work towards reducing MTTR for customer-impacting incidents. Implement service level metrics & service level objectives that act as service-level health indicators. What we value These skills will help you succeed in this role: Strong analytical and problem solving skills Collaborate on a team to build, review, and help design high quality code and infrastructure Experience operating and scaling a high-performance compute cluster in a production environment. Education & Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Analytical field required 7 years of overall experience Experience in cloud monitoring using Dynatrace, Datadog, ELK stack or Splunk. Working experience with standard cloud deployments. Experience operating one or more OSS technologies like Kafka, K8s etc; other backends and streaming systems a plus About State Street What we do.
