Dunphy Best Blocksom LLP is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to support recruitment, employee relations, HR operations, and culture-building for our team of 29 lawyers and 30 staff.
What You’ll Do Lead full-cycle recruitment, build a strong candidate pool, and manage onboarding/offboarding Support employees and leadership with employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance processes Ensure compliance with Alberta Employment Standards and maintain accurate HR records Assist with payroll updates, benefits administration, and compensation reviews Coordinate training, development, and mentorship initiatives Support workforce planning, staffing analysis, and leave management Maintain HR policies, the employee handbook, and contribute to policy updates Prepare HR metrics, reporting, and assist with budget-related tracking
What You Bring Experience in HR, or people-focused roles (legal or professional services background is an asset) Strong understanding of Alberta Employment Standards Excellent communication skills, discretion, and comfort handling confidential or sensitive matters Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities A proactive, people-centered mindset with solid problem-solving abilities CPHR designation or interest in pursuing it is considered an advantage
