Our client, a local leader in the Industrial Services industry, is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join their corporate services team.

Responsibilities Role Overview The Human Resources Advisor, reporting to the Business Support Manager, is accountable for: I.
Providing expert guidance on all aspects of employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compensation and benefits, and policy development.
II. Advising senior leaderships on labour and employment law, ensuring compliance with Alberta’s Employment Standards Code.
III. Collaborating closely with Operations, Safety and Payroll teams to align HR practices with business objectives while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Results • Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, fostering a positive and productive workplace.
• Support leaders in implementing and managing performance review processes, coaching supervisors and managers to address performance challenges effectively.
• Assist with sourcing, screening, and onboarding to ensure a seamless recruitment lifecycle process.
• Oversee employee benefits programs and provide support on compensation matters.
• Advise senior leaderships on employment law, ensuring compliance with regulations on hiring, termination, and employee contracts.
• Develop, support and update company policies to reflect current regulations and best practices.
• Analyze and present management information related to HR metrics and trends to support strategic decision-making.
Leadership & People • Foster strong relationships with employees across diverse cultural and backgrounds, promoting inclusion and respect.
• Build trust with employees and leaders at all levels to cultivate high-performing, collaborative teams.
• Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement and morale, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Act as a role model for effective communication teamwork, and ethical decision-making.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to supervisors and managers to support their ability to manage and inspire their teams effectively.
Qualifications Education • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
• CHRP designation.
Experience • 1 to 4 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now is an advantage.
• Human resources experience in the transportation industry.
Knowledge/Skills • In-depth knowledge of Alberta’s Employment Standards Code.
Skills and Attributes • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees and leaders.
• Conflict resolution expertise with the ability to navigate complex situations.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and prioritization abilities to manage competing priorities.
• High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Ability to learn Employment Standards Code of Manitoba.
