Contract – NAL Finance opening in Toronto. Lead the preparation of quarterly regulatory returns and other filings, including the Life-1 return; preparation of IFRS FS including disclosure notes that will involve liaising with various internal teams and external auditors; support the analysis and communication of technical and other financial results for various stakeholders including senior management and the Board; assist with the preparation of corporate tax returns; lead reinsurance accounting including quarterly projections and reporting; monitor and reconcile the PeopleSoft General Ledger and SUN sub-ledger, collaborate with other PartnerRe group reporting teams to support quarterly reporting; liaise and collaborate with various functions (valuations, administrations etc.) on operational and reporting matters. Ideal candidate is an experienced (5+ years of PQE) accountant with diverse financial reporting and operational finance skills. Ideally you have experience working in a global re/insurance organization and are looking to continue building on your skills in a dynamic and culturally diverse environment. You will also bring the following experience/profile: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel and Power Point; exposure to complex entity structures, with multicurrency reporting, multiple entities, and multiple accounting bases for the same entity; working knowledge of a major general ledger system and reporting tools, such as People Soft general ledger, Sun systems general ledger, NVision reporting, and Business Object is an asset; experience with Canadian Corporate and Indirect tax is also considered an asset.     Ontario is one of the thirteen provinces and territories of Canada. Ontario is the fourth-largest jurisdiction in total area when the territories of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut are included. It is home to the nation's capital city, Ottawa, and the nation's most populous city, Toronto, which is also Ontario's provincial capital. Ontario is bordered by the province of Manitoba to the west, Hudson Bay and James Bay to the north, and Quebec to the east and northeast, and to the south by the U.S. states of (from west to east) Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York. There is only about 1 km (0.6 mi) of land border, made up of portages including Height of Land Portage on the Minnesota border.Ontario is sometimes conceptually divided into two regions, Northern Ontario and Southern Ontario. The great majority of Ontario's population and arable land is in the south. In contrast, the larger, northern part of Ontario is sparsely populated with cold winters and heavy forestation.
