We're gearing up to launch a casual, full service, contemporary spot on James St. N., where folks can relax and enjoy the "grill focused" foods of the Mediterranean.
We need a Chef du Cuisine who's not afraid to get their hands dirty and dive action. With the help and support of the owner, you will be the brains behind our kitchen operation, whipping up dishes that keep our guests coming back for more.
Using your experience and maturity, be able to take a "team-centred" approach in crafting menus that showcase traditional flavours, using a modern approach in cooking and plating.
Lead our kitchen crew by example, keeping things running smoothly even when the heat is on.
Keep a tight rein on inventory, orders, and costs to make sure we're making bank without skimping on quality.
Make sure our kitchen is squeaky clean and up to code with all health and safety regs. Qualifications:
Proven chops as a Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine.
A deep love and understanding of Mediterranean cuisine, but the experience to plate with a contemporary feel and style
Leadership skills that command respect without being a prima donna.
A knack for keeping your cool under pressure and getting the job done, no matter what.
You're all about keeping it real, but you know when to get creative with the menu.
Culinary school is cool, but experience in the trenches counts for a lot more.
Some "Steakhouse/Grill" experience is definitely an asset!We will start the perfect applicant at a very competitive compensation package because we want you to feel comfortable committing, as we will commit in you!
