The Job:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering Services, the DevOps Architect plays an important role in improving engineering productivity and implementing world class software engineering practices at PointClickCare. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the larger DevOps organization to support engineers and SRE resources with solutions for a variety of cloud, pipeline, and automation projects. We are seeking a force multiplier with experience and capability to thrive in a changing environment, while contributing to continuous improvement and the automation of daily operational activities.

Specific activities include: making design choices, prototyping the solutions, socializing to drive adoption, and overseeing technical standards(SM1) (BR2).
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a thought leader, guiding PointClickCare on its DevOps journey, staying up to date with industry trends and architectural concepts.
- Advise on Azure/cloud best practices and reference architectures.
- Drive contribution and collaboration towards libraries and help set contribution standards for code adopted by many teams.
- Help to shift security to the left, providing input on policy and integration, then driving adoption.
- Continuously improve our continuous delivery across multiple datacenters and networks for lower change failure rates and ease of configuration.
- Ensure engineering teams have the insights and observability they need to support their services.
- Build automation tools to streamline, manage, and scale applications, platform, and infrastructure services.
- Partner with key stakeholders across DevOps, Product Engineering, Operations, and SRE.
Qualifications:
- BSc technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong communicator with ability to describe the rationale behind design decisions and an ability to socialize those decisions.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps platform and Docker/Kubernetes container tooling.
- Experience with automation/configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, ARM, Bicep, Pulumi, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Go).
- Experience using continuous integration build and test tools (Jenkins, TravisCI, CircleCI).
- Experience using static code analysis tooling (SonarQube, Fortify) and integrating into build pipelines.
- 10+ years of software development or application engineering using an object-oriented language (Java,.NET, C++, Go, Swift, Python).
- Hands-on experience with release management, code management, and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience architecting distributed systems, stateful and stateless services, and containers.
- Experience architecting highly available systems that (auto)scale horizontally.
- Experience architecting for disaster recovery.
- Experience designing services to comply with HIPAA, Hi-Trust, or NIST frameworks.
