Overview Summer Camp Leader Municipality of Ritchot - Saint Adolphe, MBApplication Deadline: N/ASummary: This role works collaboratively with the Ritchot Recreation department to provide on and off site support to summer camps within the Municipality of Ritchot. Responsibilities include assisting with the planning, setup, delivery, and take down of summer camp programs while ensuring participant’s safety, and fostering a positive experience for all participants and families. Requirements Experience working with children Demonstrated leadership abilities Previous experience in recreation, sports, leisure, or a related field Commitment to fostering a welcoming and positive participant experience Demonstrated ability with working and communicating effectively with diverse groups and being adaptable to various situations Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations and implement appropriate solutions Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Proficient in both written and verbal English communication Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision Reliable transportation to multiple program locations across the RM (Ste. Agathe, St. Adolphe, Grande Pointe, Ile des Chenes)Current or able to obtain satisfactory Criminal Check and Child Abuse Registry Check Current or able to obtain First Aid and CPR Certification Physically able to lift 40lbs Assets Bilingual in French and English Demonstrated leadership skills Job Duties Leadership and Program Delivery Provide active, hands-on supervision to ensure camper safety and well-being Provide strong leadership by clearly communicating expectations and constructively guiding camper behavior to ensure a safe and respectful camp environment Be attentive to campers’ dietary, medical, and individual needs, following established procedures Model respectful communication, teamwork, and inclusive behavior while actively fostering a welcoming, supportive, and respectful camp environment Lead and actively engage campers in daily routines and scheduled activities by delivering fun, educational, and inclusive programming that supports skill development, physical activity, positive social interaction, and smooth transitions throughout the day Participate in activities to enhance the overall experience for attendees Admin Assist with camper sign-in and sign-out while maintaining a welcoming and professional presence with families Maintain accurate records and complete incident reports as required Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling information Identify when program adaptations are required and work with the Camp Administrator to adjust activities or plans When possible, take photos or videos of campers (with consent) for promotional or social media use Perform other related duties as required to support the success of Summer Programs Program Support Work collaboratively with fellow camp leaders to ensure effective supervision and high-quality programming by assisting with planning, setup, delivery, and take-down of activities and spaces, while providing constructive feedback to support continuous program improvement Assist with trailer packing, transport, and unpacking between locations while responsibly caring for camp equipment, supplies, and facilities and promptly reporting any damage or shortages Ensure activity spaces are left clean, safe, and ready for use Communicate operational needs, concerns, or issues to the Program Coordinator or Camp Administrator Attend required training sessions and staff meetings Represent Ritchot Recreation professionally and uphold departmental values How To Apply For more information about this employment opportunity, please visit the Municipality of Ritchot’s website.
