About the Role
We are looking for a knowledgeable and industry-experienced instructor to teach in our Business Administration: Accounting & Payroll diploma program. The ideal candidate brings both strong subject matter expertise and a passion for supporting student success in a career-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, practical, and industry-relevant instruction in accounting and payroll courses
Prepare lesson plans, course materials, and assessments aligned with program outcomes
Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback
Support students in developing job-ready skills (e.g., bookkeeping, payroll processing, compliance)
Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and academic records
Stay current with industry trends, payroll legislation, and accounting practices
Participate in program reviews, curriculum updates, and academic meetings
Collaborate with Career Services to support student employability
Courses May Include
Financial Accounting
Payroll Compliance & Legislation (CRA, ESA)
Computerized Accounting (e.g., Quick Books, Sage)
Taxation Fundamentals
Business Mathematics
Excel for Accounting
Ethics and Professional Practice
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation preferred or in progress)
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant industry experience in accounting and/or payroll
Experience with Canadian payroll systems and legislation (CRA, WSIB, etc.)
Proficiency in accounting software (Quick Books, Sage) and MS Excel
Prior teaching or training experience is an asset
