We are seeking a Senior Network Specialist to join our highly technical Network Services team. If you have experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN, SD-WAN), Firewalls, large-scale MPLS networks, Cloud networks, and BGP routing, we want to hear from you.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Network Services, the Senior Network Specialist will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing secure and scalable network environments. You will analyze performance, perform capacity planning, and fine-tune networks such as MPLS, SD-WAN, Cloud Connectivity, VPN, and Voice over IP. You will recommend standards, procedures, configurations, and enhancements to our On-Prem and Cloud networks, coordinating planning and implementation of network and connectivity design.
Additionally, you will assist in designing, planning, and developing security standards for systems and networks, as well as the enterprise’s security architecture between various mission-critical systems.
This role requires a creative thinker with tenacity to identify root causes of problems. Excellent communication skills are essential to translate business needs into technical requirements.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that provides critical networking services, supporting our 911 operators in saving lives and protecting property. The role involves working with a wide range of technologies, offering continuous technical challenges, especially as we advance with our Next Generation 911 project.
Note : Paid after-hours on-call monitoring is required on a rotational basis; paid overtime may also be available.
What you’ll need :
- A university degree in computer science, technology, or a related discipline, with significant experience in network design and implementation, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Data Center and/or CCNP Enterprise) certification is required (CCIE is highly desirable).
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Security) certification is highly desirable.
- At least 3 years of experience with cloud networking concepts and technologies (AWS or Azure).
- ITIL Foundation v3 or later accreditation is preferred.
- Up-to-date knowledge of new technologies, best practices, trends, and developments in networking.
- Experience providing third-level incident support and root cause analysis for performance issues.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff involved in network design and maintenance.

Security Requirements :
Employment at E-Comm requires obtaining and maintaining a Police Security Clearance. Candidates must have resided in Canada for at least five years and be Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents. Candidates on student, visitor, or work visas are ineligible.
