Purpose:

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. In this hands-on role, the HRBP delivers the full suite of employee and organizational services in both Human Resources Management and Labour Relations disciplines. The ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations is essential.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

We believe that the ideal candidate has the following qualifications and experiences:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary role in Human Resources or related discipline.
At minimum, completion of a diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or another related discipline.
Previous experience in supporting leaders in a fast paced work environment.
CPHR designation, experience in Labour Relations, are strongly desired.
Previous experience in an engineering/manufacturing industry would be an asset.





Main Responsibilities:
Supporting the management by promoting, communicating, and implementing human resources programs and initiatives.
Deliver full-cycle recruitment across all disciplines related to product engineering and CNC manufacturing operations.
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
Advise and coach management in areas of employee/labour relations.
Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
Coach managers and supervisors on Attendance Management principles.
Assists with the management of the administration of collective agreements within a unionized environment.
Assist with grievance procedures at all steps.
Assist with preparation for arbitrations and other legal activities.
Foster an open, constructive relationship with Union and shop stewards.
Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
Act as subject-matter expert in the areas of employment law, Human Rights, common law jurisprudence, arbitral law, labour relations, etc.
Supervise, coach, and develop a HR Coordinator.
