Join AZAD Technology Partners as an Archaeologist and become a valued contributor to an Environmental Historic Preservation organization within a regional energy utility as a Cultural Resource Specialist, providing professional support and knowledge in the inventory, evaluation, protection, and management of prehistoric and historic resources.
This position focuses on conducting archaeological fieldwork (survey and monitoring) and reporting, requiring the ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects and interact with internal personnel, management, and federal, state, and tribal officials.
This is a 4-month plus consultant position with a high probability of long-term and ongoing employment. It is a hybrid role with onsite work 1-2 days weekly in Portland, Oregon, and up to 50% field travel, including approximately 4 overnight trips per month across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, western Montana, Nevada, California, and Wyoming.
The hourly pay rate ranges from $34.93 to $36.93, which includes a health and welfare fringe benefit of $4.93.
Minimum qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field (required); Master's degree preferred.
At least 5 years of professional work experience with an applicable degree.
2 years of professional experience or equivalent training in archaeological/cultural field research, administration, or management.
At least one year of full-time professional experience in prehistoric archaeology or historic archaeology, depending on specialization.
6 months of supervised field and analytic experience in Columbia River Basin archaeology.
Basic knowledge of the NHPA and Section 106.
Experience conducting archaeological inventories and producing technical reports.
