English Teaching Assistant in Taiwan
About the Opportunity
Looking for a meaningful job abroad that combines travel, culture, and career growth? Teach in Taiwan through Languages Canada's youth mobility program and experience life in one of Asia’s most dynamic, welcoming, and beautiful destinations.
English Teaching Assistants work under the guidance of Taiwanese teachers to create a positive , diverse , and immersive English learning environment that encourages proactive English learning amongst students.
Work hours: Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day.
Assist Taiwanese teachers during class and in various school activities, including presentations, exhibitions, performances, and projects
Create a rich, immersive English learning environment using diverse approaches to enhance students’ overall English ability, learning interests, and confidence
Participate in teaching meetings, professional development activities, extracurricular events, competitions, and other school-related projects
Prepare lessons collaboratively or independently, including lesson planning, developing teaching materials, grading assignments, and conducting assessments
Eligibility Requirements:
Native English speaker
Bachelor’s degree (any field)
Contract Duration & Intake Period
12-month placement

Compensation & Benefits: Monthly salary : NT$50,000 ≈ CAD $2,170 Housing covered by employer (stipend): NT$26,000/year ≈ CAD $1,130 Round-trip airfare reimbursement : up to NT$40,000 each way TEFL/TESOL course reimbursement: up to NT$55,000/year ≈ CAD $2,390 Transport stipend : NT$3,000/year National Health Insurance, Labor Insurance & Pension
